We pick up from Lviv Railway Station, any hotel in the city, or a private address — just send your pickup point when you book. The drive to Shehyni covers about 80 km via Horodok, Sudova Vyshnia and Mostyska. Travel time depends on traffic and the checkpoint queue, so it’s worth allowing extra time, especially on weekends and holidays. Your driver drops you as close to the pedestrian crossing as traffic rules allow.

Crossing the Ukraine–Poland Border by Foot to Avoid Long Vehicle Queues

Vehicle queues at the Shehyni–Medyka car crossing can run to several hours, especially on weekends and holidays. The pedestrian crossing can be a useful alternative when vehicle queues are long — though pedestrian wait times vary too, so it’s worth checking current conditions before you travel.

Here’s how it works in both directions:

Lviv → Rzeszów: your driver takes you from Lviv straight to the Shehyni checkpoint. You cross the border on foot through the pedestrian lane. On the Polish side, in Medyka, another driver is already waiting for you and takes you on to Rzeszów, Rzeszów Airport, or anywhere else in Poland.

Rzeszów → Lviv: the same in reverse — a driver brings you from Rzeszów or Rzeszów Airport to Medyka, you walk across into Shehyni, and your Lviv-side driver is waiting on the Ukrainian side to take you onward.

Drivers are arranged in advance and will be waiting for you after you cross the border, so you’re not left looking for transport with your luggage. Border crossing conditions and waiting times can change with little notice, so allow extra time and stay reachable on WhatsApp on both legs of the trip.
